Corrective foot surgery
While a podiatrist could provide excellent advice on the need for podiatric surgery (eg bunion surgery or the straightening of painful hammer toes), the individual who is best able to give a more complete picture in terms of which procedures, expected outcomes, how painful the surgery is likely to be and for how long will it be painful, is the podiatric surgeon. (A podiatric surgeon is a podiatrist who having spent three years to qualify as a general podiatrist goes onto to spend another 5 years studying and taking exams to become a podiatric surgeon.) These individuals are a rare breed in the profession and we are exceedingly fortunate to have an associate in our practice who can offer this service. Mrs Carol Selth has been a member of our team for well over 20 years and is registered to perform surgery as a provider for most private health care companies. It should however be added here that while Mrs Selth is called upon regularly to assess and advise our patients with regard to foot surgery, this surgery is not performed within our premises. She does however act as the main provider for nail surgery with Mr Mulvaney in the surgery and will provide steroidal injections when occasion demands.

These are synonomous to warts, except that they tend not to protrude beyond the level of the surrounding soft tissue.
This condition can generally fall into two categories; an involuted nail and an acute in growing toe nail.
A quick inspection of this foot will reveal a foot that has a low arch (or no arch) and a heel that turns outwards.
